To fully utilize PowerBI Portal, ensure the following Power BI resources are in place:
Power BI Pro Account: At least one Power BI Pro account is required for content publishing and administration.
Power BI Capacity: A dedicated capacity, either Power BI Embedded or Premium, is necessary to manage and distribute reports effectively.
or
Power BI Fabric
To learn more about what are the different capacities of PowerBI Embedded visit:
Note: Opting for Power BI Embedded capacity allows PowerBI Portal to automatically manage capacity states, such as pausing during inactivity to optimize costs. For instance, setting an inactivity limit of 60 minutes will pause the capacity after an hour of no activity in the Front Office, resuming upon user re-entry.
While initial trials of PowerBI Portal can proceed without a dedicated capacity, Microsoft imposes access limitations without one. Therefore, associating your Power BI workspaces with a capacity is essential for uninterrupted functionality.
