Custom SMTP

You can set the SMTP server to send the PowerBI Portal emails.

  1. SMTP Config: choose SMTP server

  2. SMTP Host: enter SMTP server address which will handle your emails. You may need to contact your IT department to ensure the correct information.

  3. SMTP Port: enter port with witch the above SMPT server sends emails. You may need to contact your IT department to ensure the correct information.

  4. SMTP Security: enter the specific SSL and/or TLS encryption used by your SMTP server. In case your SMTP server doens't require authentication, please choose 'Anonymous authentication'. You may need to contact your IT department to ensure the correct information.

  5. SMTP Username: enter the email address from which all emails will be sent to your recipients.

  6. SMTP Password: enter the password for the previous SMTP Username.

  7. From Address: enter the email address visible to all your recipients. Make sure that the email address set on the 'SMTP Username' field has permissions to send emails on behalf of this one. You may need to contact your IT department to ensure the correct information.

  8. From Name: enter the name visible to all your recipients.

Notification Types

In this section, you will be able to customize email notifications for two scenarios: New User Access Attempt and New User Welcome Message.

  1. New User Access Attempt Notification: here you can define the email message to be sent to a person trying to log in at PowerBI Portal without having been added to the 'Users' list.

  2. Added Back Office User Notification: here you can define the email message reaching a new Back Office user after being added to PowerBI Portal's 'Users' list.

  3. Added Front Office User Notification: here you can define the email message reaching a new Front Office user after being added to PowerBI Portal's 'Users' list.

  4. Added Master User Notification: here you can define the email message reaching a new Master user after being added to PowerBI Portal's "Users" list.
